Cam Lewis, a Senior Commercial Music Major & Voice Principle with a Composition & Arranging Emphasis joins us as an Imagination Scholar. Cam shares: “Something that drew me to this role is the opportunity to combine two crucial sides of who I am into one specific position. As someone who thinks that creativity exists in everything, the CAC is a great example of how art and creative thinking have a deep connection to artistic expression through spirituality and faith. With this program, I hope to lift up and give platforms to creatives to share the message of faith and Christ, and to show the important role art plays in both Christianity and life as a whole.”
The Imagination Scholar program identifies, empowers, and supports a cohort of visionary students invited to help shape the spiritual and creative life of Belmont’s campus. Rooted in creativity and community building, this paid opportunity allows students to build original creative work, assist with Creative Arts Collective events, and engage the campus community at the intersection of faith and art.
Each semester, scholars will work alongside their peers and fellow creatives on campus to serve and develop a vibrant artistic community on campus. As ambassadors for the Creative Arts Collective, scholars will design creative projects that connect the Creative Arts Collective to the on-campus community and look for opportunities to connect the Creative Arts Collective to the creativity already taking place on campus. The program is intentionally experimental: scholars shape its structure, outputs, and culture. Learn more about the program here.
