Overview
The Imagination Scholars Program identifies, empowers, and supports a cohort of visionary students invited to help shape the spiritual and creative life of Belmont’s campus.
Rooted in creativity and community building, this paid opportunity allows students to build original creative work, assist with Creative Arts Collective events, and engage the campus community at the intersection of faith and art.
Each semester, scholars will work alongside their peers and fellow creatives on campus to serve and develop a vibrant artistic community on campus. As ambassadors for the Creative Arts Collective, scholars will design creative projects that connect the Creative Arts Collective to the on-campus community and look for opportunities to connect the Creative Arts Collective to the creativity already taking place on campus. The program is intentionally experimental: scholars shape its structure, outputs, and culture.
What Imagination Scholars Do
- Serve as ambassadors for the CAC to the broader Belmont community — especially within student orgs and peer networks
- Design and execute artistic or event-based project(s) inspired by but not limited to CAC’s annual theme
- Participate in monthly cohort gatherings and CAC all-call meetings
- Assist in planning and hosting CAC events (e.g., Day to Dream, Creative Summit)
- Receive mentorship from CAC staff, Faculty Fellows, Artists in Context, etc., with the possibility of connection opportunities with CAC grantees
- Student Experience
The Imagination Scholars Program is a paid, project-based opportunity that invites students into an active partnership with the Creative Arts Collective. It’s not a traditional honor society or resume builder — it’s a space for creative thinkers and spiritually curious students to experiment, collaborate, and bring bold ideas to life. Scholars are given autonomy, structure, and mentorship to imagine freely and create meaningfully. Scholars commit to the Fall and/or Spring semester. They receive orientation, attend monthly cohort meetings, and engage deeply in CAC events and theme-related work.
Who Should Apply

- Students who think differently, dream boldly, and create with purpose
- Artists, musicians, theologians, storytellers, designers, and visionaries of all kinds
- Students from any discipline — not just arts majors
- Community-minded students with strong networks and a desire to bring people together
- We especially encourage applications from students whose perspectives and identities have been historically underrepresented in Christian and creative spaces.
